You want wedding music. You need a few elegant announcements; you don't want the chicken dance, loudmouth DJ's or inflatable guitars. Then you want Aria Melody DJ's, NY and NY's alternative to creepy, cheesy, or just plain "more than what we need" wedding DJ's. Their musical taste, like yours, is impeccable. Their DJ's are classy and upscale, and their incredible ability to curate the soundtrack for your wedding ceremony and reception is unparalleled. Quite simply, they'll guide you and your wedding guests through the celebration seamlessly, reading the crowd and producing the event that you hoped for. Without plasma TV's, embarrassing dance routines, or any, "NOT THAT SONG!!!" moments. Without missing the wedding procession or recessional cues. Without messy setups or mortifying mis-pronouniations of your bridal party's names.
Owen, the head headphone guy at Aria sent us some of his tips for finding the perfect DJ. It might just be one of his great NJ/NY DJ's.
- Ask your DJ what their backup plans are, both for themselves and their equipment. We always have a DJ on standby, in case of emergency. And we have backups for every piece of equipment, from laptops and speakers, down to cables and power supplies. We are there early enough to keep everyone (you, us, your venue coordinators) calm and relaxed.
- Give your DJ a few examples of the music you like, and ask him/her to fill in the blanks. I find that's a good way to see if everyone's on the same page. Most weddings have a wide demographic, so it's important to play music that all guests will enjoy, while staying true to the couple's music preferences.
- Ask your DJ how many weddings they book per month. We book 3-4 weddings a month maximum so each couple gets the customized, personal service they expect.
