
It's rustic, but it's not a barn. It's industrial but it's not a factory. It's sophisticated but it's not a ballroom. It's post modern but not cold and sterile. The food is artisan-ally amazing and the staff is on top of every detail. The view (NYC skyline) is breathtaking, and there are stunning photo backdrops at every turn. It's Battello, hovering over the Hudson River in Jersey City, and it's one of my new favorite venues. I am very, very picky when it comes to recommending venues, (30 years in the catering biz will do that to you) but I have to say that my recent wedding there was flawless. The staff anticipated every nuance of the waterfront ceremony and the transition to the reception was seamless (imagine a magnificent, rustic oak bar full of Vanilla Moscow Mules and turquoise Champagne cocktails to welcome your guests!) The DJ (Jason from SCE event group) was tucked away his own little wrought iron balcony, adding to the chic ambiance that started the celebration.
