Yes, it's a day for parades and the beach and BBQ (and maybe some wedding planning in the mix since it has been a rainy weekend in New Jersey). But more importantly, it's a day to remember every person who has served our country, often without the proper support or recognition. It's a time to think about how we support the families of these fearless patriots in big and small ways.
If you have a chance (and if you don't have a random chance, maybe you'll make one) reach out to someone who has lost a loved one, whether it's 50 years ago or last week, and let them know how grateful we are for their service.
