Your wedding professionals are not ALWAYS trying to make you spend as much as possible! If you have honest conversations with them, odds are they can save you a lot of money in very invisible ways by simplifying and using their expertise. Here are some money saving ideas you might want to investigate!
-Your florist will suggest seasonal flowers, less expensive species, modest containers (who is going to look at them anyway?). They will cut the cocktail hour decor (no one will even notices it) and find ways to reuse your ceremony decor at your reception. They might tell you to cut the bouts (I see a lot of this happening....)
-Your photographer will deliver your EDITED photos via a flash drive and let you print what you want (do not ask for unedited photos. In modern photography, post-production accounts for much of the style that made you pick your photographer to begin with....)
Your caterer will be able to suggest less expensive ways of serving food (passed shrimp cocktail costs less than massive mounds of it) and cost effective choices (bruscetta costs less than mini lobster rolls). Brunch may be cheaper than dinner, and usually, a single choice plated meal is the least expensive of all.
Ask your invitation specialist what costs can be cut; custom inks? Fancy linings? Weird sizes that cost more to mail?
Talk with your officiant about what you want to have happening; a hand written ceremony? Or short, sweet and a bit more generalized? And always ask them to help you orchestrate your rehearsal so your venue staff can run it. Most officiants charge extra.
We all want you to use your dollars as effectively as possible. So let us help!
