If you're anything like me, you periodically fill up a couple giant bags of used stuff to donate to the Vietnam Vets or other worthy cause. As I shovel those CD's, books, DVD's and piles of clothing into those bags, I think to myself....why did I ever buy that?? The clothes still have the tags, the plastic wrap on the CD's is still intact.....all those items represent little chunks of your wedding budget (not to mention the floorspace you need for your DIY wedding projects....)
So stop thinking in terms of buying; borrow or rent.
Obviously, look into your local library for books, cd's and movies
Instead of buying movies, get netflix (8.00 per month), instead of CD's try Pandora or Spotify.
Clothes? Rent the Runway; they even have wedding gowns to rent.
Lots of people for Thanksgiving? Rent your plates, glasses, tables, chairs
Babysitting? You can rent cribs, strollers and car seats.
Wedding decor; you can rent vases, candelabras, charger plates; anything you need to embellish your wedding reception can absolutely be found on a short term basis!
There is practically nothing you need that you can't obtain....temporarily.
