And that reminded me of a discussion, because yesterday was July 4th. Holidays have a weird effect on wedding pricing. Here's some of the possibilities
1. If you're looking at a Sunday night before a Monday holiday, you may not get Sunday pricing, which is very often less than Saturday night.
2. If you're looking at a holiday weekend in the summer at a beach location, all bets on all days, are off. Plus, your guests will pay a premium for hotels and often they will have to book for a minimum of two nights.
3. Traffic. Areas prone to tourists, festivals, street fairs....your shuttles may charge you a premium simply because it's going to take them longer to get from point A to point B.
4. Staffing may cost more. ESPECIALLY on New Year's Eve, when staff can command double the hourly rate or more.
5. Flower costs, around Valentines Day and Mothers Day can be extreme. Delivery will be expensive if not impossible
So consider asking all these questions of all your wedding vendors BEFORE you book a holiday date!
